1Timetable has delivered on the ambitions of the Industry Timetable Technical Strategy

Following the May 2018 timetable change the industry collectively realised that something needed to be done about how we create and deliver the national timetable.

From this was born the Industry Timetable Technical Strategy (ITTS) which set out how the industry should deliver this change and create a foundation for "faster and more flexible timetable development, enabling better performing, more responsive and efficient timetables."

Collaboration that just works.

1Timetable's award winning platform is delivering the collaboration and innovation necessary to realise the industry's vision for a truly integrated railway. Unifying schedules, vehicles and crew across operators for the very first time.

Data will be "fit for purpose"

It will be easy to access and share data

Planning tools and systems will "talk" to each other

Planners will receive timely, consistent, data-driven feedback

There will be minimal reliance on manual data entry and interventions

Agile technology will mitigate the challenge of planning timescales and complexity

How the complete picture is unlocking real world performance benefits.

Every day there are thousands of problems across the national timetable, and many go unspotted until they land in front of a controller or signaller on-the day.

With 1Timetable's collaboration engine, operators and Network Rail can finally see a complete picture of the timetable - schedules, vehicles and crew - and gain the understanding and insight necessary to resolve problems before they have a performance impact.

For example, collaboration has unlocked the ability to accurately and instantly validate station workings based on the schedule and vehicle plan provided by collaborating operators, highlighting platform mismatches, overlength formations and conflicts between services.

"Working together with East Midlands Railway, 1Timetable have designed a modern system which significantly reduces the manual hours that my team at Nottingham station spend compiling the station simplifier each week. The simplifier is integral to the operation of the station and is used by the station dispatch team and Network Rail signallers.

The platform graph and validation messages give a clear indication of any issues with the plan including platform clashes, schedule issues and platform mismatches. This has enabled the team at Nottingham to identify issues much further in advance than before, which has supported the operations team in raising the issues to the relevant planning teams in good time to reduce any potential delays."
